I live in the apartments next door to this location and I'm so happy this location is here. It's super convenient and the staff is always super nice. It is a grocery store location, so they can be swamped (especially "after school" hours since there's 2 schools nearby) so I try to avoid them during this time.

I love a supermarket Starbucks. Try walking into any stand alone Starbucks at about 8:00 in the morning; it's a nightmare! But the ones inside supermarkets, in this case - Pavilions, are usually dead as hell at any given time of the day. Sure, the baristas might be a little slower since there is no real incentive for them to rush, but it's nice and calm. There's nothing more that annoys me than rush hour at a Starbucks. Even with the mobile app ordering feature, you still have to walk into a sea of people all standing around and waiting for their caffeine fix or venti water (LAME).
This Starbucks inside Pavilions is solid and a better option than the one down the street on Culver/Irvine. -

I had an absolutely horrible experience at this particular Starbuck's location. I realize that new staff need to be trained, and I am completely understanding of that issue. However, perhaps it is better to choose a better time to train a new member rather than a busy Saturday morning. While the wait was frustrating, especially while trying to hold an infant, I didn't say anything. However, after finally receiving my drink the older employee reminded the new, younger gentleman to place a sleeve on my extremely hot beverage. He reached for the drink at the same time that I did, and it tipped over, spilling hot coffee all over the counter, the floor, and down my shirt and legs. Instead of trying to help, he simply stood there dumbfounded. He was standing next to a box of paper towels and didn't offer me one. I asked him if I could have some so that I could clean up the counter and myself. He gave me one. I had to keep asking for each paper towel one by one. Common sense will tell you to try to help or go and ask a supervisor for help. He did nothing. I am furious. After standing there and watching me struggle to clean it up while holding an infant, he finally said that he would clean up the floor. I am shocked at the inferior level of service at this location and will never be returning. Please train your staff better before placing them in situations where they need to interact with customers.
